As summer approaches, the real estate market in Tahoe is gearing up for a busy season. Over 80 properties were listed last week in anticipation of Memorial Day Weekend. While the true peak selling season starts around July 4th, the recent influx of listings is a positive sign for the coming weeks. While more listings are expected, distressed sales are unlikely due to sellers not being under pressure to sell. Buyers are adjusting to the market reality and becoming impatient with waiting for a significant correction.
Since May 1st, 91 properties have gone into contract in the Tahoe Sierra MLS, indicating a strong market with low inventory. A busy summer selling season is expected, with increased competition once interest rates decrease.
