I just had a great meal at the Cottonwood Restaurant in Truckee. I had the linguini with grilled chicken breast, diced tomatoes, in a chipotle cream sauce with Asiago cheese. Delicious! Cottonwood is perched on a hilltop overlooking downtown Truckee and the Truckee River.
In 1928 Cottonwood was originally created as a pavilion constructed from railroad ties salvaged from abandoned Martis Valley logging operations, which served members of the Truckee Ski Club, Truckee Outing Club and the Sierra Dog Derby Association. They have a large seating area on the back deck, which is the ideal place to enjoy your meal on a warm summer day. Live acoustic music is featured on Thursday and Friday evenings. The music begins at 6pm on the deck. Reservations are highly encouraged at all times because sell-outs are common.
