And just like that, it's officially fall! Who doesn't love autumn's abundance; apples, pumpkins, falling leaves, and beautiful weather in Tahoe!

It's also time to look at the numbers as we wrap up the 3rd quarter. We're still waiting for the month-end numbers for September, and I look forward to providing you with a full review and summary of Q3 in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I do have some early observations worth sharing.

August Market Snapshot
August was the biggest month for home sales in the Tahoe region this year - bigger than August 2022. Below is a snapshot of this August compared to last August in North Lake Tahoe, West Shore, and Truckee:

What Does This Tell Us?

Tahoe is not following the same trends as many of the markets we are hearing about in the media. Regardless of the concerns of high interest rates, an election year, inflation, etc. people are drawn to Tahoe for the same reasons they always have been. They want a place to escape to with beautiful mountains and lakes, and a lifestyle that allows them to create lasting memories with family and friends.

The concept of life is short seems to be resonating with many people. Some of this may be a result of Covid and the re-evaluation of priorities, and some of it may stem from the crummy news in the world. The lure of Tahoe is stronger than ever, with people coming to enjoy life and re-set, even if it’s just a brief get-away, like a weekend or a holiday.

The consistency and dependability of the Tahoe market remains true, and our numbers show that it’s still going strong.
