Fall Selling Season in Tahoe – Market Update, September 17th, 2020

The Tahoe Summer is tapering off as temperatures are cooler and the leaves are preparing to change. Fall is my favorite time of year in Tahoe. It’s an ideal time to recreate outdoors, as trails are less crowded, the lake is calm and golf courses are still open.

The real estate market continues to sizzle at all price points in all neighborhoods. Our inventory is down and demand doesn’t appear to be diminishing. In fact, it feels like there is a stronger sense of desperation and determination from buyers who have been trying to find and purchase property in Tahoe all summer. Low interest rates, the ability to work and attend school from anywhere and the desire for open space and a better quality of life have continued the Tahoe housing market’s busy season beyond when it usually recedes. In addition, the average 30-year mortgage hit an all-time low of 2.86 percent this week, according to data released Thursday by Freddie Mac. There has never been a better opportunity to trade up or down!
